We make the famous French dessert consisting of puff pastry, and we offer a choice from a variety of cream fillings. Four layers of puff pastry and three layers of cream. Topped with a white cream and decorated with fruit and/or chocolate. Description

Mille feuille. We make the famous French dessert, which consists of puff pastry layers filled with pastry cream.

Our bakers produce four layers of puff pastry and fill them with three layers of cream.

We offer a choice from a variety of cream fillings.

Our bakers decorate the top of the cake with a white cream together with fruit and/or chocolate. We write a personalised message on top of the cake – or on the cake board – at no extra cost, should you want one written.

For example, we write a Happy Birthday message.

Our recipe consists of only the best and freshest ingredients.

What is Mille feuille ?

Mille-feuille was invented by the Frenchman François Pierre de la Varenne. He published the first recipe in 1651.

The legendary French chef Antonin Carême perfected the mille feuille in the eighteenth century.

Adolphe Seugnot later made the pastry a real household name.

The dessert is also known as Napoleon in North America, and as custard slice or vanilla slice in the United Kingdom.

The cake is known as mille foglie in Italy.

We offer a variety of different filling options for our mille feuille.

These are vanilla chantilly cream, chocolate chantilly cream, pistachio cream, and vanilla chantilly cream with fresh strawberries. Please let us know if you would like the mille-feuille finished off with icing sugar, rather than white cream.

We advise that you cut the mille-feuille with a serrated knife to avoid damaging it.

Our bakery handles all of the eight major food allergens; dairy, gluten, nuts, peanuts, egg, soya, sesame and sulphites.

All cakes that you order from us should be stored in a refrigerator until they are ready to eat.
