Description

Chocolate Fudge Cake.

We make two layers of rich, chocolate sponge.

Our bakers fill the sponge and top it with a chocolate fudge cream.

Our recipe consists of only the best and freshest ingredients.

Who invented Chocolate Fudge Cake?

The United States of America is the birth place of fudge.

Fudge was first made by complete accident on Valentine’s Day in 1886. A confectioner in Baltimore, Maryland was making some chocolate caramels.

He made a mistake and called his fumbled creation a ‘fudge’ as the term means “to fit together in a clumsy manner”. Fudge subsequently became very popular!

Emelyn Battersby Hartridge has the first recorded mention of fudge in 1888 in a letter. She was a student at Vassar College. She then made some fudges to sell that year at her college.

Making and selling chocolate fudge at college in the United States soon became a popular pastime.
