Description

Fruit Tart.

We make a sweet pastry tart and fill it with Italian patisserie cream.

Our bakers then add to the tart mixed fresh fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, kiwi and grapes.

We finish off the decoration with a glazed gel.

Our recipe consists of only the best and freshest ingredients available.

Who invented the fruit tart?

Fruit tarts evolved from fruit pies, which themselves date back to the fourteenth century in Europe.

It wasn’t until two hundred years later in the sixteenth century when the shortcrust was invented.

The Italian crostata, which is an open tart, was one of the first versions of a fruit tart that appeared during this period of time.

Many different variations of the tart and fruit tart appeared in later centuries, including the fruit tartlet.

The fruit tartlet is a miniature tartlet.

The modern creator of the fruit tart is often attributed to the Tatin sisters in France. Stephane Tatin and Caroline Tatin ran a hotel and restaurant in Lamotte-Beuvron in the late nineteenth century.
