Description
Puff pastry Cannoli.
We make a puff pastry and fill it with fresh cream and a touch of strawberry or blackcherry flavouring.
We sprinkle with vermicelli on either side and then finish by dusting with icing sugar.
Our recipe consists of only the best and finely-sourced ingredients.
It is important to note that this is a puff pastry product and is different to the original cannoli, which is a Sicilian pastry.
Who invented puff pastry?
It is widely reported that French pastry chef Claudius Gele invented puff pastry in 1645.
He took a bread dough and added butter into it. He then kneaded the dough, folded it and made it into a loaf.
The puff pastry has since gone on to become a staple of French and European cuisine.
However, there are Arab and Greek historians who claim that their cultures created puff pastry before the French.
We use puff pastry to make many of our products, including Cream Horns, Zuppette, chocolate sports, Millefeuille and other cakes.
