Description
Cannoli with White Chocolate We make a tube-shaped Sicilian pastry which we then fill with white chocolate cream.
We coat each end with chocolate chips before dusting the Cannoli with icing sugar.
Our recipe consists of only the best ingredients.
Who invented White Chocolate Cannoli?
Cannoli were invented over one thousand years ago.
They can be traced back to the island of Sicily between the ninth and eleventh century.
There is a split of opinion on whether Cannoli were first created in Caltanissetta during Arab rule in Sicily. Other historians claim Cannoli originate from Palermo and Messina.
Cannoli with white chocolate cream is a more recent version of the original creation.
What does Cannoli mean?
The word Cannolo means ‘little tube’, as it is the shape of the pastry.
The Cannolo is considered a fertility symbol given the phallic shape of the pastry.
Cannoli are a tradition of Sicilian cuisine and one of the most famous exports from Italy and its surrounding islands.
