Description
Cupcakes.
We make victoria sponge cupcakes and offer a variety of different options for fillings and coloured toppings.
Our recipe consists of only the best and finely-sourced ingredients.
Who invented Cupcakes?
Amelia Simmons first invented the cupcake in 1796 in the United States of America.
She wrote a cupcake recipe in her cookbook named ‘American Cookery’ in which she describes “how to bake a light cake in small cups”.
The first use of the word ‘cupcake’ was in 1828 in a cookbook by Eliza Leslie called ‘Receipts’.
Cup cakes were originally baked in pottery cups, which is where the name of the cake comes from. This was before muffin tins were available to bake the cakes in.
